It was started in the year of 1999, by four main partners Rajil Kapoor, Bala Parthasarathy, Suneet Wadhwa and Shripati Acharya and after some time Ben Nelson was the CFO and later president. It was acquired by Hewlett Packard but they did not revealed the deal price. As of 2007, it became the biggest photo sharing and photo printing site which had more than 40 million members and was hosting 1 billion digital pictures. They shut down their operations in some countries such as Belgium, Spain, Netherland and India in the mid of 2013. In 2015, Hewlett Packard had an agreement to sell Snapfish to its previous owner District photo under the terms of sale.
Today, the brand has achieved more than 60 million subscribership and hosting around 5 million of digital photos. They are the pioneers in the world of online printing services and photo sharing, they have beaten their every competitor in the race of getting first and now, Snapfish is on the top of the list because of their enormous options to upload a photo free, from almost anywhere you can upload your picture such as Facebook, Flicker and other various social platforms. They have provided their customers with free tools to free form design and text overlay on their photos. Even customers are able to add decoration on their loved pictures. The company has occupied a large area in this online printing world and yet there is no other like this one.
